The Illustrated Gospel Project

The Illustrated Gospel Project brings together scripture, art and poetry in an attempt to ground the Gospel in people's own context.

Malcolm Gordon says of the Project:

This idea of ‘bringing home’ the Gospel stayed with me. Here in Aotearoa we often end up importing our worship songs and ideas about the Bible from bigger places, as if we have swallowed the assumption that bigger is always better. But isn’t God here? Isn’t God with us too?! Over the last two years a scattered community of wordsmiths, artists and musicians has formed as we began this work based on the simple conviction that these ancient stories are playing out on our streets as the Risen Christ walks and works in our midst.

  • consideration of the importance of leadership virtues lived out in action amongst staff and their impact on the effectiveness of character education;
  • analysis and application of a range of leadership models to support leaders in developing and embedding their approach;
  • provision of a suite of practical resources to empower school leaders in using the Church of England’s Vision for Education, Deeply Christian Serving the Common Good to inform and underpin their approach.

The Nativity Factor has produced some amazing videos over the years. Here is one from last year that captures the gritty reality of the nativity.

This is another great one from St Paul's Media and Arts

This is a more traditional depiction of the nativity that might be suitable for liturgy.
